Panel Discussion “Putting Open Science into practice”
The concept of Open Science is becoming more and more widely accepted and the number of researchers who know the advantages of making their scientific research open and accessible is increasing. However, researchers, especially those still in the early stages of their scientific careers, often lack a basic understanding of how to implement openness in their scientific work process.
The public panel discussion will therefore focus on the question: How can (young) researchers open up their scientific work and thus make it more accessible and reusable for others?
Following the FOSTER Book Sprint, the participants will give an initial insight into the training handbook they have written and discuss their findings with young scientists who are participating in the Open Science Fellows Programme of Wikimedia Deutschland, the Stifterverband and the Volkswagen Foundation. The panel discussion will be moderated by Christina Riesenweber (Center for Digital Systems, Freie Universität Berlin).
