Marie will speak at #vBib2022 on the spread and impact of library publishing with particular reference to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Library published journals are predominantly diamond open access (free to publish in and free to read). Library published journals focus on a wide range of topics including gender, health, indigenous populations and education. Marie will describe how the ethos and content of many library published journals align with the SDGs. She will also describe tools that scholarly publishers are using to demonstrate the alignment of their publications to the SDGs.
In this presentation, Marie will show how the ethos, publishing model (diamond, open access) and subject coverage of library published journals are aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In the presentation Marie will argue that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are a relevant and powerful lens through which to evaluate the impact of library publishing.
